Ancient Greek officer’s helmet from the famous city of Sparta, dated 420 B.C.< Sparta or Lacedaemon was a prominent city-state in ancient Greece in south-eastern Peloponnese. Around 650 BC, it rose to become the dominant military land-power in ancient Greece.
